Taster Sessions for Primary Schools
In primary school foreign languages are often neglected, but learning a foreign language opens up a whole new world of opportunities and is beneficial for brain development. If you are a school teacher and would like to give your pupils an opportunity to try out a foreign language (the one with the funny dots!?) then the taster sessions are a great way to put that into action. Your students will get a feel for the language and go home with a bag full of phrases they can use straight away.

My background
Hallo,
mein Name ist Susanne Arenhövel, I can hardly believe it:
I have taught German for more than 12 years now, in Vienna, in Australia and right here in Swansea at the university.
I still love it and I can say that I never got bored by it. Reason number one is the learners: I am so grateful that I have met so many interesting people through teaching: adult learners, university students, children, refugees and academics.
Also, every course is different – not only different people but also different cultural aspects that we speak about as well as the latest developments in politics, culture and society.
And then: You also change me. Through teaching I have had the opportunity to learn from so many people. Danke!

“Your endless enthusiasm and energy for teaching German makes your lessons interesting and energising. You make even the learning of grammar and new vocabulary fun. I love the way you take the exercises from the text book and give them a little twist, which makes speaking German much easier and less frightening. I really appreciate all the suggestions and links to on-line learning sites. These are great for listening to German being spoken and the features on German culture and history are really interesting.”
